Data Access

The majority of data acquired by INFOMAR is available digitally via the following sites

INFOMAR Survey Data

Site hosted by the GSI where bathymetry and backscatter grids and XYZ files, and leg reports  for all INSS and INFOMAR surveys can be downloaded.

Web Mapping Services

Standard Map viewer where you can see vector data of INFOMAR, this includes tracklines, SVPs and grab samples.  The data layers can be queried for information.

Data Catalogue

Metadata on the various data types collected by INFOMAR as well as metadata on all other datasets held by the Marine Institute and some held by the GSI.

INFOMAR Viewer

A web map viewer where you can view the INFOMAR survey data, this includes tracklines, SVPs and grab samples.  The data layers can be queried for information. Some layers may be downloaded in excel, GML, KML and shapefile formats. A link is provided to our interactive web data download site and also a WMS link.

View the Seabed in Google Earth

You can you view and download Irish Seabed data. The data can be viewed using the free "Google Earth" software or any other viewer which accepts the Google Earth ".KMZ" file type.
